What does The Edge do?
The Edge is the home of college and NFL football picks and betting tips with an exclusive membership site. The site provides free betting tips or a subscription for unlimited picks for a year.
How do you decide on the picks you make?
The Edge Team uses proprietary analytical tools to identify variables to make sure your pick is as accurate as possible.
How many picks do you have per football game day?
We average 6-8 picks for college and 6-8 picks for the NFL. The number of picks we offer depends on the teams playing and the point spread. We don’t pick just to pick. Our recommendations of games to bet on relies on a process and if a game does not meet our high criteria after the vetting process, then it will not be picked. We succeed by not only selecting games to bet on, but also on weeding out the games to stay away from.
How do you send the picks to clients?
The picks will be available throughout the week to each subscriber on their account via the website. When the season is in progress, just login, go to your subscription account, and view today’s picks!
When do you send the picks to clients?
Picks are posted throughout the week. We are constantly analyzing teams and trends. If we see a game to pick on Monday at the point spread is acceptable, we post the pick immediately to allow our members to lock in the point spread.
What is your sports betting win rate?
For College football, the win rate for the 2023/2024 season was 60%! Overall, it was 57.5%. If a person bet all of our games for $110 per game, they would see a $1,510 profit!
How does your process work?
Our proprietary process has been tested and studied for years. Our team has a combined football wagering experience of over 100 years! While it is not perfected, the process is extremely successful and provides you with one of the highest returns on investment you can find in the sports betting world!
Do you rate your plays?
Generally, we do not rate recommendations, because we strongly believe in our process and the resulting picks from the methodology. If the game does not meet our high standards for likely success, we do not post it.
How do I find today’s picks on the website?
To get to your picks: login, my account, and click on “weekly” picks. The website will be updated throughout the season.
Is plus or minus better odds?
Minus (-) odds indicate favorites, while plus (+) odds apply to underdogs. Betting on underdogs (+) yields a higher return compared to your wager than betting on favorites (-). However, neither is inherently better; it depends on the efficiency of the odds for that particular game. In terms of potential return, plus odds are more favorable if the bet wins.
What do odds of +200 mean?
Odds of +200 mean you stand to win double your bet. For instance, a $100 bet at +200 would win you $200, resulting in a total payout of $300. A plus number always shows the amount you win on a $100 bet.
What does 3 to 1 betting odds mean?
3 to 1 odds mean that for every $1 wagered, you win $3 if your selection wins. So, a $100 bet at 3 to 1 odds would result in a $300 profit.
Who sets the odds for sports betting?
Odds are set by sportsbook operators. Opening lines are based on advanced sports analytics to be as accurate as possible. They are adjusted based on breaking news, public betting trends, and the volume of bets on either side. The goal is to balance the odds to manage the sportsbook’s risk.
What are American odds?
American odds are the standard way sports betting odds are presented in the US. They include a plus (+) or minus (-) before the number, indicating underdogs and favorites, respectively.
